| As the Christmas season is upon us, I decided to make it extra hard for friends and family by moving right after Thanksgiving So if you need my new address please drop me an email and I'll send it to ya. Other news... the new apt is great, the new roomie is great, still need someone to fix my internet and for the boys to come fix the screen door that they took off in the move. And best of all, the new roomie, Erin, and I put up the Christmas tree the other night...pics coming soon...it's brilliantly decorated and the middle lights are out (haven't discovered why yet)....and we would regularly get distracted by the Big 12 Conference Championship game on TV as we put it up. I love it when roomies like sports too Later peeps! | | |
| This is the radar shot on the day of my move. AWESOME.
At least we aren't getting any of the pink stuff....sadly though it doesn't look like it's going to let up any time soon at all....boooooooo! oh well at least i got slip covers for the 2 beds, couch, and chair...the ottoman will get a leftover of one of those :P

| I signed a lease today to move into a new place with 2 fantabulous yet to be announced roommates. Here is my list of things I will NOT miss about my current place: 1. Flooding 2. Spiders 3. Random stench that cannot be found and does not go away no matter how much I mop or complain to the landlord 4. Tile floors....EVERYWHERE 5. Other random bugs that sneak into my house 6. A backed up bathtub that a whole bottle of Drain-o does not appear to touch and jerry-rigging the stopper 7. Random nooks and craines with random shelves put in 8. Random cabinets not matching in the kitchen 9. Electric stove (although it is a very nice electric stove) 10. Basement living 11. Neighbors up above 12. Sharing a mailbox with someone I don't know 13. The noisy dehumidifier that comes on loudly in the middle of the night as you are trying to get to sleep
And I am sure the list will go on. Now things that I will LOVE about my new place: 1. Roommates!!!!! 2. 3rd floor!!! Top floor!!!!! 3. WINDOWS!!! 4. Carpet!! 5. No bugs inside! 6. No smelly smell! 7. Gas stove! 8. 3rd floor! 9. Big Balcony! 10. Matching cabinets and pretty appliances 11. Amazing location 12. My own mailbox to share only with my roommates! 13. Hopefully no more backed up bath tub and no jerry-rigging the stopper in the bath tub The one downside of my new place is no washer/dryer. However there is a laundry room on site and I am sure I have enough friends I can borrow their's if need be. I think I can handle living above ground, with carpet, with roommates, for no washer/dryer. Anyway those are my thoughts for today....I am so excited | | |
| So these are the notes from my little notebook as I traveled England back in August. Since I should be studying or sleeping and it's past 12am I thought it a good time to post them. *note slight sarcasm* Top Items of 2008 Trip to England (items?!!? who came up with that??? oh wait. me. ) 1. The nail guy has a British cousin 2. Make sure you pack more skirts than short socks and more tall socks than trousers. 3. Take packing lessons from Seth. 4. When coming to England for the 15th million time, make sure to pack way more than you need because you forgot about hauling luggage up and down the stiars in the tube and on the railway. 5. Flirt with the guys in business suits that help you carry your luggage up and down said stairs. Especially the hot Italians.... 6. Internet in Hertfordshire is still painfully slow but speeds up after you allotted time is up. 7. Be nice to your friends that give you a place to stay. 8. Spend double the money to sleep in and watch telly on a few days off. 9. Your Oklahoman 6th sense for thunderstorms is keen in England, allowing you to avoid getting drenched in torrential downpour just moments after getting back to the flat (and allows you to watch the British run for cover. hehehehe) 10. Jewelers would go bankrupt if they had the rainy day guarantee on wedding rings in England -- however if they had a sunny day guarantee they would make a profit. 11. Tea is still better in England -- and I might need to join Teaolics Annonymous upon my return home (whoops. didn't stick to this. dangit. back to Step 1. Hi. My name is Lauren. I am a Teaolic.) 12. The exchange rate is finally affecting my $40/day budget for anywhere in the world including England -- I may have to actually allow for inflation for the first time since 1999 13. Red Red Wine is actually a waltz! (seriously! try it! lol!) 14. I still have my mojo! (disclaimer....I have no idea where/when this came from) 15. Seeing Mike at the wedding!!!! ahhhhhhh!!!!!!! I so recognized the back of his head! ha! 16. JP's detailed write outs for the ushers on what to do at the wedding right down to toilets and other random questios... ha! 17. People trying to hook Mike and I up....including the butler who introduced us together saying "you never know! it could be the beginning of something!" lol!! 18. Wrong Bus. 19. Wrong Train. 20. Right Airport. 2 wrongs do make a right. lol And the absolute best part of England was catching up with old friends from Cass, St. Helen's, Herts Uni, and Spicer Street!!!!! I love you guys!!!!!!! Note: I refuse to explain all of these. Some may know the story behind the line item, some may not. | | |
